Mailed One

The red/wine colored one got mailed today to Stephanie.... The Cream colored angel will be picked up by Scott or Renee' tomorrow and the dark blue one is Paula's and she is afraid to touch for fear she will break it....OMG so I hope she takes it soon.  The light blue one is already on top of Shad and Tiff's tree and I haven't finished Bear's or Shannon's because I don't know what color they want....

 Just about ready to put wings on this Tree Top Angel...just waiting for Tiffany to let me know if she wants any changes.  I can't remember if she wanted brown or blond hair...so thinking if she wants brown I can still change it.  In the mean time..Stephanies Tree Top Angel is ready for her skirt...and the finishing touches.  Renee's will be Ivory and I got the satin the the mail last week....ya hooo...everything is coming together.

Here is my little muse today.  She needs eyelashes and fabric pants.  Also need to finish her hair and give her some eyebrows.....but this is where she is right now....kind cute!

This is a little muse I have been making. I am farther along than this...so I just realized that I don't have any pictures of how she looks now.  So I will go do that....

New Sculpt WF4

This is where I am with the new Wendy Froud Style sculpt.  The hair will be viscose combination of light brown, auburn and strawberry blond.   I am trimming the outfit in black velvet, with black lace on the arms and for her panties leggings.  Also a black velvet underskirt.....

She will have a small fairy purched on her outstretched fingers and perhaps, if I have time, on her shoulder.

I love the color of the fabric I am using.  It is a damask and is very hard to photograph.

Progress on New Sculpt

WF Project

Well the WF Project is moving along but while I was wiping off some excess color from her face I created a crack just under her chin on her neck....darn it!  But on the plus side she stands on her own....I was worried she would not balance properly. And I think the proportion of her size and then her feet are pretty close.  She stands 22 inches the biggest Wendy Froud type sculpt I have ever done....well I have only done 3....oh...and I love her feet!

Tomorrow I will be posting photos of the little Muse I have been working on for a couple of months.  So close to being actually done. But the motivation factor is missing.....so if I say that I am going to here....then perhaps that will help.

Little Hermits or a Few Old Crabs!

Today

I seem to be moving in slow motion these days.  Sometimes I feel like my life is falling apart.  I don't think it is because Jim died.....I think it is just a general falling apartness of it all....can't focus, can't think, can't get anything done....seems like I just go in circles and trip over myself.  I hope it passes soon...this is getting old fast.

I need to finish my sculpt for the WF type project I am part of .....and today I made myself post items for sale on my Etsy shop  Selvsaas@Etsy.com  my Sandee's Village Shop has been needing some items to sell in it for a couple of months. Not very motivated...I put up some Hermit Crabs that I have had done for a month and they should have been posted weeks ago.

So anyway...I am going to post a few pictures and then see about finishing my last foot for the project.....

This is where I am with the WF4 project that I am doing. I really enjoy working with the instructors that I have....and I am learning so much.

Photos of the Muse

So here is the muse so far.  I need to paint before I can put the cloth part of the costume on.  I will be using gauze and hope to have photos posted by the end of the week of it finished.  I did change the color of the legging and top to a light beige...not much different than white but better!  It is totally posable and can sit by itself.  So far I am pleased with it.

I have been doing a small sculpt for a friend. She is to be a muse and is really coming along nicely.  I have been working out the details and now I am down to the last few details of finishing her. I was going to post a photo of her ...but I haven't downloaded them yet....bad me!   Well I guess I will go do that...right now!

Mid August and sunshine

I have been working on several sculptures and I am also taking a sculpting class.  It is a Wendy Froud type class and is being facilitated by a very nice person...I will post the head I am working on. Here is what I have so far.  It is a very long way from being finished.  I did one last year and gave it to my friend Roxi, who named her Cassandra, a very lovely name!  She sits in the china hutch in her home.  This one is a little taller about 16 inches and doesn't have a name yet!

I made these faces while babysitting for Scott and Renee'.  The boys were so good and I got all of these done.  Future hermits.....I can hardly wait to see who they turn out to be.....

Well it looks like the summer tourist season is fast closing down here in Seldovia. So I am starting to making items for my Etsy shop.  Here are two I listed today.

Sunshine!

Oh my gosh! I can hardly believe it!  We are going to see the sun today.....sure looks like it anyway!  The other news is I have one of my little hermit crabs featured in another blog..... www.thegreengourd.blogspot.com  please go check it out and also check out her cool Etsy shop.  Debbie does some wonderful creative things with gourds, a lovely creative woman. Also check out the Etsy shops she has featured.

Like her I also support "handmade" items. In each item that is handmade the artist has thoughtfully touched the piece at every step of the creative process. I love to imagine the person working on the piece..".what color am I going to use....what shall I add or not...."  Did they get interrupted by their children or pets or did they stop to make dinner?  A piece of the "artists" life becomes part of yours .... how incredible is that?

I appreciate each and every customer who visits at my "Village Shop" ....and I hope each person who purchases one of my pieces will love it as much as I loved making it.

Well.... must get dressed and get ready for a big day in Seldovia....the "Scenic Byways" ceremony is today down at the boat harbor.....and I will be at my booth along with the other "Seldovia Artists" for the Crafters Market.
 

Saturday and More Rain

Good Morning from Seldovia!  You would think that eventually we would get some good weather here this summer....but yet again this morning has dawned, cold, wet and dark....heavy clouds and wind.  The kind of day where you would just like to curl up next to the woodstove with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book.

  But I have made a commitment to the Crafters Group for vending this summer and rain or shine I will be there.
Seldovia puts on a fantastic 4th of July celebration and people come from hundreds of miles away just to be here. Everyone in town works hard to make sure our visitors leave with beautiful memories of their time spent here.

  Right now however I am in my sweats with a hot cup of coffee looking forward to the day and all the really neat individuals I will meet today....the people who are here for the first time and those who return every year for your 4th of July celebration....

A Few Old Crabs

 Here is one of the "Few old Crabs" going to a new home.  Oh Look!  He is calling home to tell his family he is moving.  I hear those new "Shell Phones" are really nice.
